AAS出版北极快速变化对欧亚气候天气影响专刊

  21世纪以来,北极气候系统正在发生一系列的剧烈变化。北极海冰以史无前例的速度急剧消融,海冰面积屡创新低。北极增暖放大效应和北极海冰的迅速减少是北极地区气候变化的重要表现形式,而中纬度地区极端天气事件的增多是否与北极海冰减少有关也是国际科学界关注的焦点问题。  为深化对北极与中纬度天气气候耦合的认识,经AAS主编批准,由AAS编委、美国阿拉斯加费尔班克斯大学Xiangdong Zhang教授领衔,来自德国、美国、中国、英国等国家的知名科学家担任客座编辑,组织了一期“Towards improving understanding and prediction of Arctic change and its linkage with Eurasian mid-latitude weather and climate” 专刊,于2017127日正式在Springer上线出版https://link.springer.com/journal/376/35/1 )。

  专刊客座编辑之一,世界天气研究计划(WWRP)极地预报年(the Year of Polar Prediction)主席、德国Alfred Wegener研究所Thomas Jung教授认为:“大家对北极和中纬度的联系的研究远没有达到共识的程度,因此,大家很有必要把最新的研究成果聚合在一起进行检视”。Xiangdong Zhang教授认为专刊发表的研究成果展示了观点分歧所在,有利于科学家确认未来研究领域,进行合作:“专刊的重要之处在于同样的问题用不同的角度进行研究,包括用天气预报的方式。”
